Perspective

It’s a rainy day here in “Sunny Florida”, but I am not minding it other than having  to postpone a shopping trip. I like a rainy day now and then. It breaks up the monotony. Hope your day and week are going well.
I have really been blessed to enjoy being able to go back and forth to Florida and Indiana with family in both states. My husband retired in 2020 from his job of 30 years and started a business up in Indiana. We made our first trip to Indiana in June 2020 and stayed until the end of December 2021. Mobility is one of the best perks of an online business! That was our “introductory” and extended stay. Going forward it will be pretty much 50/50.   We will be here in Florida a few more weeks before making the trip again!
So, what is new?
I am now a covid veteran as of December last year. Some may be asymptomatic or have mild symptoms but that was not me. It was pneumonia but no hospital, and the funny thing is I did not know I had pneumonia! Having never had it, I didn’t know. But six weeks post covid I was still having some breathing issues. X-rays and a CT scan revealed I did indeed have pneumonia. When I looked at the results – and if you have ever tried to read radiology reports you know that is a crazy challenge – I was shocked to see that my sturdy (I thought) body didn’t stand up to covid like I thought it would. Having covid was a life changing experience. I learned to not major on the minors and I hope I remember that lesson.
The economy has certainly changed. It’s affected my clients and created some “green space” in my schedule to evaluate and plan. I hesitated to welcome the changes, but I have been gaining perspective, one of my most valued commodities.

"Perspective is everything when you are experiencing the challenges of life."
-Joni Eareckson Tada, Author, speaker

"Perspective and control are the two ingredients to time management."
-David Allen, author Getting Things Done

"I'm just thankful for everything, all the blessings in my life. I think that's the best way to start your day and finish your day. It keeps everything in perspective."
-Tim Tebow, Football player, author

I love perspective. It is like getting knowledge I wasn’t seeking and didn’t have to pay for, and it  helps me make wise decisions.

I am looking forward to our trip back to Indiana but then I will be looking forward to the next trip here. It’s a new rhythm for me and us. I am thankful for the capability and blessing it is and look forward to new successes and more perspective.
